Week 4 Final Word
|
One host couldn't touch Bijan. The other cashed him.
This one is late. Week 4 got a full recount this week, and we would sooner be right than early. So here is the last word on Monday night, with a new game a few hours away.
On Monday we told you every Monday night side bet pointed the same direction. That direction was Atlanta, and the Falcons won 45-24 in New Orleans, so every side and teaser leg cashed without a sweat. We also told you the three Anytime TD Show hosts had picked three different names and somebody had to be wrong. They picked three tight ends. Kyle Pitts and Juwan Johnson both missed the end zone, Noah Fant was inactive, and the 95 to 1 parlay tying all three together went with them.
The Sports Gambling Podcast had the same idea. Six of the eight first touchdown tickets Sean Green and Ryan Kramer wrote were tight ends, and none of them scored. Sean said on air he couldn't touch Bijan Robinson because he was on the Saints. Kramer took Bijan at 20 to 1. Bijan went 59 yards on Atlanta's third play. The game had 69 points and not one of them belonged to a tight end.

Monday Night Scoreboard
Twenty-six plays from four shows went 7-16 with three voids. Here's the night at $10 a pick.
Sports Gambling Podcast 3-13 with two voids, +10.10 units |
+$101.00 |
Sharp or Square 3-0, +2.73 units |
+$27.30 |
Action Network 1-0, +0.83 units |
+$8.30 |
Anytime TD Show 0-3 with one void, -3.00 units |
-$30.00 |
Tail all 26 and you made $106.60. One ticket did the work. Kramer's Bijan first touchdown paid $200, and without it the night loses $93.40. He also hit Juwan Johnson for 50 or more receiving yards at +150. The other 13 props that counted all lost, and two Fant tickets were void.
Simon had the Falcons +3. He and Chad both took them again at +2.5, and the Sharp or Square official five did too. Stuckey and Kramer each closed out a teaser with Atlanta as the last leg. Even Money sat the night out. The one host who leaned the Saints never put it on his card, which was the sharpest pass of the night.

Final Week 4 Totals
The whole week, Thursday through Monday, at $10 on every named pick. These are the recounted numbers, and they match the site.
| Even Money |
+$93.00 |
| Sports Gambling Podcast |
+$69.90 |
| Action Network |
-$14.40 |
| Brandon's Playground |
-$46.30 |
| Sharp or Square |
-$59.90 |
| Anytime TD Show |
-$177.50 |
Tail all six shows and you finished down $135.20. Tail everyone except Even Money and you were down $228.20. The shows closed the week 76-119 and 13.52 units in the red.
Monday night moved one show. Sports Gambling Podcast went into the game in third and came out second, the only show besides Even Money to finish in the green. Everyone else kept their order, and the TD Show dug the basement a little deeper.

One Award Changes Hands
The Hot Mic moves to Ryan Kramer. He finished the week 12-20 and +12.18 units, and the Bijan ticket is the reason. Fezzik had it through Sunday and loses it to a 59-yard run. Gallant keeps the Cold Mic, and the Pitts miss stretched his week to 0-10. Sharp or Square keeps the Bonehead Read for the Broncos, though the official five did finish 2-3. We asked on Monday whether that card would end up bad or merely annoying. Merely annoying it is.

Tonight's Sweat
Week 5 starts tonight and so far the room is oddly quiet on the game itself. In the episodes already out, not one host has a straight side or total on it. The Thursday shows are still to post. Two shows are in already. The Sports Gambling Podcast wrote 15 tickets, every one a prop or a long shot, and one player's name is on six of them. Over on Even Money, Ross and Fezzik each built their teasers around the same team tonight, five tickets in all.
So one show needs a player to have the night of his life and the other just needs a team to behave. Hit play on both to hear which is which. We grade them all Monday.
